NORWAY – Bernadine D. Jackson, 71, of South Paris, died suddenly Saturday, May 29, at Stephens Memorial Hospital with her beloved family by her side.

She was born in Nanticoke, Pa., on Aug. 20, 1932, the daughter of Leon and Frances Petroski.

She married Robert T. Jackson in Bridgeport, Conn., on April 17, 1951. They raised four children together.

Mrs. Jackson owned and operated a card and gift shop called The Wishing Well in Monroe, Conn., and had retired in 1994.

She had many joys in life, from gardening to loving her two puppies, Anndiana and Boomer. She loved taking special care of her seven grandchildren. She was a truly amazing and wonderful woman who was and still is the soul of her family.

She was the love of her husband’s life.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert T. Jackson, of South Paris; a son, Robert Jackson Jr. of Sanford; three daughters, Dianne Waterhouse of West Paris, Kathy Jackson of West Paris, and Patti Karavitis of Fairfield, Conn.; seven grandchildren; her mother, Francis A. Petroski of Connecticut; a brother, Larry Petroski of Connecticut; and a sister, Maureen Dorio of Connecticut.
