LEWISTON – John Belisle, chairman, leading the other members of the Scholarship Trust Board of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club, will present the annual $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from each of the five area high schools at noon Thursday, June 3, at the Ramada Inn.

Each recipient will be given a few minutes to tell the audience about themselves, their high school achievements and future plans. The club will also host their families and a representative of their school.

The presentation will take place at the club’s weekly meeting. Anyone interested in the program or in knowing more about Rotary is invited to attend. The cost of the luncheon is $8.

Widows meeting

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Area Widow Fellowship will meet on Monday, June 7, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, School Street. The gathering will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed at noon with a potluck lunch. All interested widows in the area are invited.

Seniors cookout

LEWISTON – The Monday, June 7, meeting of the Lewiston Senior Citizens will be the last until September and will feature a cookout after a short business meeting. The cookout will be headed by “Chef” Guy Dube. There will be a $3 charge per person.

At the May meeting Lucille Denis and Guy Dube were selected as mother and father of the year. Mabel Soucy won the attendance drawing and Nel Morency, 50/50 prize.

Registration day

AUBURN – Auburn AC Serve (SHARE), part of Serve New England’s food and volunteer program, will have its alternate registration date for the June 26 Distribution Day from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 7, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, Whitney Street entrance. Nursing mothers

AUBURN – All pregnant women and nursing mothers are welcome to attend the next La Leche League meeting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are welcome. All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion in addition to the scheduled topic, “Breastfeeding: Great Beginnings,” which will focus on preparing for nursing baby at birth, establishing and maintaining breastfeeding and adjusting to family life with a new baby.
