WATERVILLE – Author and Franco-American activist Denis Ledoux will present a video, “L’arbre de la Memoire,” to the Franco-American group “Les Bavards” when it meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at the Waterville Library, Elm Street.

The one-hour showing will be followed by a discussion. The public is invited to attend the free French-language program. For more information on the event or on “Les Bavards,” call Sylvanne Pontin at 872-6805.

Heart is topic

LEWISTON – Donna Jordan RN, health promotion coordinator for Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, will present an educational program on “Women and Heart Disease” at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Marshwood Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation at 33 Roger St.

A video of the telecast “Take Heart: A Life-Changing Approach to Heart Health for Women” will be shown. It features a panel of three nationally known experts on women’s health. Those attending will learn how exercise and healthier lifestyle choices can help women of all ages to take charge of their heart health.

Jordan will be available for a question-and-answer session. The program was initiated as a part of a health awareness opportunity for all Marshwood employees and is open to the communtiy. Contact Candy Greenwood, RN, for more information at 784-0108.
