AUBURN – Gloria M. Sutton, 88, of 26 Bolster St., Auburn, formerly of 119 Horton St., Lewiston, died Saturday, June 19, at Bolster Heights Health Care Facility, following a short illness.

Born in Lewiston, Oct. 10, 1915, the daughter of Joseph and Cedelice (Fournier) Caron, she had been a resident of this community all of her life.

She was educated in Lewiston schools and was employed as a stapler in the local shoe industry for many years, until her retirement.

She was the widow of Henry Sutton, whom she married in 1938, and who died on Sept. 21, 1990. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church.

Mrs. Sutton enjoyed playing beano, knitting, crocheting, cooking and dining out at restaurants. She was an avid snowshoer in her younger years. Most of all she loved the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Richard Sutton and his wife, Mirelle of Turner; one daughter, Patricia Foley and her husband, Edward of Mansfield, Mass.; one sister, Jeannette Laberge of Lewiston; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one son, Gerard Sutton; and one brother, Armand Caron.
