PARIS – Delegates from American Legion Auxiliary 72 who attended the Department Convention in Bangor on June 21 were Pat Dyer, Virginia Gammon, Lillian Herrick and Marguerite Johnson.

Certificates and awards presented to the auxiliary were: a framed certificate presented for outstanding dedication to the work of the National Camps for the Blind and Christian Record Services; national citation for meritorious service by enrolling 2004 membership exceeding department membership goal by Jan. 31; department citation for meritorious service by exceeding its membership from 128 to 131; Women Helping Women Pin for Marilyn Ramsay; department certificate for the advancement of the Children and Youth Program; certificates to M. Johnson, Unit 72 historian, for the scrapbook and history book; department certificate for support of the veterans at Togus; certificate of participation in reaching 100 percent by January; three granddaughter enrollment certificates of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ramsay; granddaughter certificate for Florence McLaughlin; and department Field Service Award for outstanding number of service hours to F. McLaughlin.

Beth Ann Grovesten, daughter of Barbara Robinson, was voted in as the unit’s newest member at a recent meeting.

A thank-you card from Pat Bowlin was read for the $500 received in memory of her late husband, Tom Bowlin. That money came from the public supper held on June 5.

There will not be any regular meeting of the post or unit in July.
