CHAPIN, S.C. – Raymond Henry Thompson, 83, died Sunday, July 25, in South Carolina.
Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Alfred Newton and Eunice Hodgson Thompson. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge, VFW and the American Legion in Maine.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Furbush Thompson of Chapin, S.C.; sons, James Thompson of Ridgeville, Penn., Richard Thompson of Kansas City, Mo., and David Thompson of Searsport; son, Bruce (Barbara) Thompson of Chapin, S.C.; stepchildren, Gwen (Ed) Frost of Cumberland, and Terrance (Sally) Herling of Sharptown, Md.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Houston of Poland.
