She was born in Canton on Sept. 30, 1946, the daughter of Fred B. Sr. and Ida Korhonen Strout and attended the schools of Turner. She worked for several years at Decoster Egg Farm in Turner, although most of her life was spent as a homemaker.

On July 13, 1975, she married Edwin “Eddie” Heikkinen in North Turner. He passed away on April 2, 2001 following 26 years of marriage. They made their home in Turner living directly across the street from her childhood home.

She attended the East Auburn Baptist Church in Auburn. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, visiting with her family and friends, jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her beloved pets, especially her favorite dog, Puddles.

She is survived by a son, David Dean and his wife, Vicki, of Buckfield; a daughter, Donna Woitko and her husband, John, of Turner; four grandchildren; a brother, Fred “Sonny” Strout Jr., of Auburn; an aunt, Lou Therrien, of Livermore Falls; an uncle, John Korhonen Jr., of Livermore; and several cousins.
