AUBURN – Fire crews were sent to Pioneer Plastics Monday morning after a forklift mishap caused a small chemical spill.
Fire officials said less than 15 gallons spilled at the Pionite Road factory about 9:30 a.m. Firefighters stood by while Pioneer employees cleaned up the spill. Officials said there were no injuries and that there was no threat to the environment.
It was unknown what kind of chemical spilled when a barrel was punctured by a forklift. Company officials were not available for comment.
