LEWISTON – The Kids First Program for Stepparents will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 18, at Advocates for Children, B Street Community Center, 57 Birch St., Suite 204.

The four-hour workshop will help parents in stepfamilies understand the normal difficulties experienced by each person in the new family.

Participants will learn ways to ease the process of combining families so that each person in the stepfamily can get their needs met and can grow comfortable with their new roles and relationships. Prior attendance of the Kids First Program is helpful, but not required.

Cost is $45 a person or $70 a couple. There are limited scholarships available. For more information or to register, contact Advocates for Children at 783-3990. The next class will be held Nov. 6.
