LEWISTON – The AARP Androscoggin Chapter 4077 will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at the Multi-Purpose Center. The board of directors will meet at 12:30.
Everyone age 50 and older is encouraged to attend and join the organization, which meets on the third Monday of most months.
The speaker will be Janet Hall, R.N., a certified hospice and palliative care nurse and director of the hospice program at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
For more than 30 years she has worked in various areas of nursing, including intensive care units, medical-surgical units and recovery room. She also worked in home care and hospice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and for the past three years she has continued her hospice nursing career in Maine.
Hall will discuss hospice philosophy, admissions criteria, available services and where they are located, and the hospice house that is being built in Lewiston by the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
Attendance and pot of gold drawings will be held and refreshments will be served.
