AUBURN – The New Auburn American Legion Post 153 Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop will hold sign-up nights for the next two weeks at the post, 72 South Main St., side door on Cook Street.

The sign-up for the troop will be held at 6:30 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 20 and 27. The pack will hold sign-up at 7 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 21 and 28. There will be displays of past Scout activities.

The Scouts learn values and serve the community as well as learning outdoor skills and earning badges.

During the holidays they make Christmas ornaments and tour nursing homes. They also remember veterans at Togus.

At Thanksgiving, they collect food for the Veterans Center in Lewiston. The Scouts parade on Memorial Day, place flags on veterans’ graves and take part in other veterans program.

Cub Scouts are between the ages of 7 and 11 while Boy Scouts are from age 11 to 16. Anyone wishing more information can call Scoutmaster Ron Poulin at 784-2875.
