LEWISTON – Thomas E. Lynch, 90, of 380 Pleasant Street, Lewiston, passed away on Oct. 17, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born on May 3, 1914 in New London, Conn., he was the son of Thomas R. and Jane Carver Lynch.

He was a graduate with the Class of 1932 from Bulkeley High School in New London, Conn.

He married Cora Ouellette in Waterville, in 1940, and they had over 60 years of a happy marriage. She passed away in April of 2001. They enjoyed traveling, made several trips across the United States and Canada.

He was employed by Wilson & Company, INC Meat Wholesaler for 40 years, which included several New England locations, including Waterville, Lewiston, and at Jordon Meat in Portland before retiring in 1976.

As a World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Nelson 623, in both the Atlantic and Pacific areas.

He enjoyed swimming and did so daily at the Lewiston & Auburn YMCA and was a life-long daily walker for over 28 years.

He was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Parish and also participated at Holy Cross in Lewiston.

He leaves a son, Michael, of Plano, Texas; two grandsons, Rory and Brandon Lynch; a brother, Robert Navin, of New London, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Cora; one brother, Richard; and one sister, Helen McLoughlin, both of Conn.
