LEWISTON – Central Maine Medical Center’s Senior Health and Wellness Services will offer the following programs to the region’s older residents during November:

People with Arthritis Can Exercise or Personal Fitness: Program includes a one-on-one evaluation and exercises designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of motion. The class will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A fee will be charged. Call for class times.

Bladder health consults with Angela Dubuc, RN, manager of the CMMC Bladder Control Center, will be offered on Monday, Nov. 8, by appointment. Participants can meet one-on-one to discuss concerns and learn about possible solutions to bladder-related problems. The consults are free.

Hearing Healthcare Associates will offer a free hearing screening on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Participants will learn about the acuity of their hearing and discover if their hearing might be improved. The screenings will be offered by appointment

Free blood pressure screenings will be offered on a walk-in basis on Mondays between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. and on Wednesdays between 9:30 and 11 a.m.

Central Maine Medical Center’s Senior Services and SeniorsPlus will offer a Medicare Drug Discount and Benefit Checklist Review on Wednesday, Nov. 10, and Monday, Nov. 29.

Participants will meet one-on-one with an adviser, and will be advised on what medication discount option will best serve their needs. A review of other potential benefits will also be offered. The service is being provided free by appointment only.

The CMMC Pharmacy will host a Brown Bag Review on Monday, Nov. 15. Participants will be asked bring all their medications in in order to get a one-on-one review with a pharmacist to check for possible conflicts, assure that medication is being taken correctly and to get hints on how to be safe in the use of prescriptions.
