BRIDGTON – Bridgton Hospital is warning the public about a solicitation effort by a Bangor company.

Pam Smith, director of development and community relations at Bridgton Hospital, said a local merchant advised her that the business had been solicited for an ad in a Maine Hospital Guide for the Bridgton Hospital page.

The solicitor, Medical Publishers of Bangor, has been involved in similar efforts in the Calais area, she said. The solicitations are not sanctioned by Bridgton Hospital, and anyone solicited is advised not sign any agreement and encouraged to notify the Bridgton Police Department, Smith said.
