BETHEL – Volunteers are being sought to serve on a new 7-member ad hoc committee to study a proposed amendment to Bethel’s subdivision ordinance.

The possible amendment would require every lot in any proposed new subdivision to have adequate water supply for fire protection purposes.

According to selectmen, the Ad Hoc Fire Protection Committee is to discuss the proposal and its implications at length to determine a possible solution that works for everyone.

Selectmen are seeking applications from three firefighters, three area land developers and one member at large.

Applications can be picked up at the town office, or by e-mail at [email protected]. Applications must be returned to the town office by Dec. 3.
