DIXFIELD – Neighborly Senior Citizens met on Dec. 15 at the Legion Hall with 66 present. The meeting was called to order by President Connie Tutlis, who read “What I Want Most This Christmas” and “Christmas Prayer.”

Observing December birthdays were Maxine Palmer, Leland Merchant, Carole Spaulding, Rene Raymond, Ethel Gordon, Fred Flaherty, Anita Reynolds, Raylene Richard and Bob Gardner. Robert and Eleanor Dunham were recognized for observing 34 years of marriage. Door prizes were won by Rita Girardin and Sally Boucher.

The annual Christmas fair was held. Anita Wiles from SeniorsPlus was present and presented a program on the new Medicare $600 credit.

It was announced that the trip to the 2 p.m. Disney on Ice, Toy Story II at the Cumberland County Civic Center will be held Friday, Feb. 25. Cost will be $30, and anyone interested is asked to call Connie at 364-4189.

Members can sign up for the trip to Indian Head Resort for a St. Patrick’s Show on Monday, March 14, at a cost of $42 a person. There is also space available for the Foxwoods-Mohegan Sun trip on April 28 and 29. Call Connie at 364-4189 for details.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 19. Membership in the Neighborly Seniors is open to anyone age 50 and over. New members are welcome. Membership dues are $5 a year.
