AUBURN – Coldwell Banker Millett Realty has announced the awards of three scholarships to area students: Brian Erickson of Edward little High School, Robert Labbe of Lewiston High School and Danielle Theriault of St. Dominic Regional High School.

All senior varsity soccer players who were going on to higher education were eligible for the scholarships. This is the first year of what will be annual scholarship awards given by the Gary Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The firm established the Gary Thompson Memorial Soccer Scholarship Fund in memory of their colleague, Gary Thompson, who died in December 2003.

Thompson was an active youth soccer coach in the Lewiston-Auburn area and was a Realtor at Millett Realty for eight years. “Our company wanted to develop an annual fund in Gary’s memory,” said Sharon Millett, owner of Millett Realty, “We wanted to honor his commitment to the youth of the Lewiston-Auburn area.”

Erickson has been a member of the varsity soccer team at Edward Little for three years. “He has always been a very focused, determined player and was elected as one of our captains,” said David Morin, varsity soccer coach, “He has provided the team with outstanding leadership qualities.”

Labbe has been a member of the Lewiston High soccer program for four years and is senior class president. “Bob helps to keep our players in focus,” said Michael McGraw, LHS varsity coach.”His focus for himself and our team is to win fairly, play hard and represent our school and community in the best possible way.”
