LEWISTON – Beatrice “Bee” A. LePage, 92, of 24 Royal Oaks Dr., Auburn, died on Thursday, Jan. 6, at Central Maine Medical Center, following a brief illness.

Born on May 17, 1912, Bee was the daughter of Fortunat and Stella Wilson Metayer. She grew up in Lewiston, but moved to Falmouth in 1939, with her husband, William LePage, to raise her family. In 1970, she moved to Gorham and later to Buxton. For the past 15 years, she made her home in Auburn.

Bee had many and varied interests throughout her long life. As a young lady in Lewiston she owned a photography studio. While in Falmouth, she developed a small greenhouse, was an avid gardener, and also a landscape consultant. With her husband Bill, they built a ceramic studio in Gorham. In Buxton she made miniature furniture, and had ponies named Tulip and Nugget, and her pride, a horse named Lila.

She was also employed for many years as a cashier at the Sears Roebuck store in Portland. Bee was a very giving person, and all through her life she cared for the lame and the sick, be they neighborhood kids, adults, or animals. Her last pet was her much loved Yorkie, Missi.

A member of St. Joseph’s Parish, she is survived by her son Bruce, and her daughter Gail; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, who passed away in 1990, she was predeceased by four sisters, Louise Scott, Lois Maxwell, Margaret Stevens, and Leona Poirier; and by a brother, Norman Metayer.
