BRIGHTON, N.Y. (AP) – A Connecticut woman was one of two people killed early Sunday in a snowmobile accident on Lower Saint Regis Lake in the Adirondacks.

State police said Kristine Guest of West Hartford, Conn., and Joshua Rau of Emmaus, Pa., died at about 4:45 a.m. when the snowmobile they were crashed into a portion of land known as “Peter’s Rock.”

Troopers said the two 20-year-olds were thrown from their snowmobile and died after impact. Rau was driving the vehicle.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
