LEWISTON – Advocates for Children will offer Active Parenting of Teens from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 9 to April 13, at the office, B Street Community Center, 57 Birch St.

The class will help parents understand the developmental changes in teens’ bodies and minds, revealed through their behaviors; communicate effectively with a teen; prevent and handle teens’ drug and alcohol use; discipline while teaching a teen responsibility; encourage better behavior; and promote non-violent conflict resolution inside and outside the home.

The class is free, but registration is required. Those interested should call Advocates for Children at 783-3990. The class is a collaboration between Advocates for Children and Healthy Androscoggin.
