AUBURN – Dr. Alan Sangburd, a local cardiologist, spoke to the members of the Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club on the subject of heart disease recently.

He pointed out that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of men and women in the United States and identified dietary indiscretion, sedentary lifestyles and smoking, in addition to genetic predisposition, as main causes of coronary artery disease.

The Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club meets on Wednesday mornings at the United Methodist Church. For more information about the club or its work in the community, people should contact President Sherwood Moody at 786-5700.
