OXFORD – A conference to teach about the purpose of Jesus’ life will be held four consecutive evenings, April 10 to 13, at Oxford Advent Christian Church on Route 26.

Sponsored by Exchanged Life Ministries of Maine, the Grace Life Conference is open to the public.

Dr. Fred Tomaselli, president of the Fold Family Ministries in Lyndonville, Vt., will show from the Biblical books of Romans and Galatians how Jesus came to make an exchange: his perfect life for the sinful lives of humans.

“Christians have been taught that Christ died for their sins and that they are saved by the grace of God. However, many have not understood the truth of their death and resurrection life in Christ, and how a victorious Christian life is also a gift of God’s grace,” according to Exchanged Life Ministries of Maine.

The conference will answer such questions as:

• How do I love myself and others?

• Why do I sometimes feel inferior and insecure?

• How do past patterns influence the way I try to meet my needs today?

• How do I experience the peace and joy of Christ in the midst of suffering?

Tomaselli holds a master’s degree in counseling from Vermont College of Norwich University and a doctor of philosophy degree in counseling from Oxford Graduate School in Dayton, Tenn. He is a professionally licensed counselor by the state of Vermont. He is also a licensed clinical pastoral counselor with advanced certification by the National Christian Counselors Association and certified by the Academy of Professional Clinical Therapists.

The Fold Family Ministries, which Tomaselli leads, is a residential counseling program for children and their families.

The cost of the conference is $25 a person; $40 for engaged or married couples. Reservations are requested but not required.

The opening session, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, April 10, is free to all.

The remaining sessions will be at the same time on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 11 to 13.
