OXFORD – The Boxberry School’s after-school Spanish class took a field trip to Hannaford’s in Oxford recently to grocery shop.

Dareth Law of Norway, who grew up in Spain, volunteers her time to teach the two Spanish classes at Boxberry every Wednesday afternoon. The after-school class is made up of students who are at least 8 years old and have previously been exposed to Spanish.

The shopping trip turned into how a person would shop in a Spanish market, picking and choosing produce, meat and fish. “The class is ready to buy necessities if ever in a Spanish-speaking community,” said Law.
