FORT MYERS, Fla. – Lionel George Bisson, 65, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, April 23.
Born in Lewiston, on Jan. 7, 1940, he was the son of Joseph and Cecile Jacques Bisson. Educated at St. Mary’s Grammar School and St. Dominic Regional High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964. He retired as a lieutenant, serving 25 years for the Lewiston Fire Department.
He owned “Acorn Village” with his wife, Cynthia, in Old Orchard Beach. He loved fishing, boating and woodworking; was known for making Christmas trains and coaching youth hockey; and later picked up the habit of golfing.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Cynthia Bernard Bisson; three daughters, Michele and husband, Will Turner, of South Acworth, N.H., Nicole and husband, David Lang, of North Easton, Mass., and Celeste and husband, John Olson, of Claremont, N.H.; one son, Daniel and wife, Janie Bisson, of North Yarmouth; one sister-in-law, Victoria and husband, Michael Broadbent, of Gorham; 10 grandchildren, Elliott, Nolande and Rosalie Turner, Alexandra, Samantha and Jack Lang, Monique and Madeline Olson, and Julia and Sophia Bisson.
He was predeceased by his parents; and one brother, Donald Bisson.
