PARIS – Two Auburn couples have been elected to lead the Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club for 2005-2006. Eleanor and Bob Herrick are co-presidents and Bob and Cathy Thorpe are co-vice presidents.

Chandler Wright of Greenwood was re-elected secretary and Judy Thompson of Waterford was re-elected treasurer. Directors elected were Sue and Dwight Corning of South Paris, who are the immediate past presidents, Jim and Jean Kroitzsh and Dick and Joan Deans, all of Hebron. John Thompson of Waterford is the club caller.

Club dances are held the second Saturday of each month at the Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine Street, South Paris.

The next dance, called the Apple Blossom Dance, will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 14. The square dances will be mainstream and plus level, called by Chris Pinkham. The round dance cuer will be Scott Williams of Auburn. Refreshments will be served at intermission.

New classes will begin in September at the school on Wednesdays evenings for anyone who wishes to learn to square dance or would like a refresher. For more information, call the Herricks at 782-4050, the Thorpes at 782-9615 or the Cornings at 743-7176.
