AUBURN – Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St., to honor mothers and daughters. The meeting will be preceded by a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m. All Eastern Star members are welcome.

Library topic

AUBURN – “Hot Topic Electronic Resources: Legal Databases” will be offered at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at the Auburn Public Library, now at the Auburn Mall. Participants will take a look at legal databases and resources and will be introduced to Heritage Quest, a database for genealogy research. Tour guide will be reference librarian Sally Holt.

MONMOUTH – Parents who missed the April kindergarten registration and screening can attend the makeup day from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 7, at the Henry L. Cottrell School.

Children must be 5 years on or before Oct. 15. A copy of the child’s original birth certificate, Social Security number and health record, including immunization dates, will be needed.

The child will be checked for height, weight, vision and hearing as well as a brief screening with a staff member. This will be a special day for the child, so bring only the child who will register. Call the school for an appointment at 933-4426.

Church program

LEWISTON – Rick Charette will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, June 17, at the Vineyard Christian School, 9 Foss Road.

As a singer and songwriter, Charette has been capturing the hearts and spirits of young and old alike with his children’s songs. His performances blend original contemporary pop music and lyrics with imaginative activities that generate audience participation.

Ticket costs are $6 for children age 10 and under; $8, age 11 to adults in advance. Prices will go up $2 at the door. Call 784-9500 to reserve tickets or visit the box office from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on May 3 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Rosemarie Goodwin and Lucille Theriault; second, Leslie Buzzel and Nancy Lindgren; third, Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and Martine Begert; fifth, David Lock and Patricia Garcia.

Flight B winners were: first, Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau; second, Luke Merry and Joe Reinhardt. Flight C winners were Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer.

Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, at the Multi-Purpose Center. A partner is guaranteed.

The Club also met on May 4 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners were: first, Mike Quinn and Lucille Theriault; second, David Lock and Jeanine Kivus; third, Patricia Garcia and Martine Begert.
