Bananas that are too old by two days
In customary spooning fashion lay.
They’re ready to be taken up and peeled
and placed in mixing bowl to make a yield
of creamy smooth conglomeration sweet
with ova of Rhode Island Red (that’s two)
and sixteen ounces sugar you must beat
with half a cup of shortening in the brew.
To this you add the grindings of some wheat,
that’s twenty ounces added to make paste,
some baking soda (half a teaspoon neat)
and sodium chloride to make it taste.
The oven causes, by producing heat
reincarnation of the golden treat.
