BUCKFIELD – Shayna Shackford and Tiffany Dunn belted home runs to lead Buckfield to a 30-4 rout over Averill in a rain-soaked softball matchup on Tuesday.

Shackford stepped in to handle pitching duties for the Bucks (9-4) in the second inning and picked up the win. Lindsey Neal and Kasey Farrington led a list of eight players for Buckfield with two hits or more.

Telstar 22, Dirigo 6

DIXFIELD — Kayla Mills launched a grand slam to power Telstar to a 22-6 romp over Dirigo in MVC softball play on Tuesday.

Jillian Kimball went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run for the Rebels (10-2), while Jessie Farrington added a three-run shot. Abby Hutchins smashed a two-run homer. Kimball went the distance on the mound for Telstar to notch the win.

Michelle Holmquist went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four runs batted in to pace the Cougars (5-8).

Skowhegan 6, Lewiston 0

SKOWHEGAN – Maria Daigle scattered two hits and received strong support at the plate as Skowhegan rolled over Lewiston 6-0 in rainy softball action on Tuesday.

Danielle Goff and Casey Marteli each had RBI doubles for the Indians (10-3), while Stephanie Obert added a pair of hits.

Danielle Willey handled pitching duties for the Blue Devils (7-7) and was unable to recover after allowing four runs in the first two innings.

Madison 6, Livermore Falls 0

MADISON – Sarah Smith scattered two hits and helped herself at the plate with two hits and RBIs as Madison defeated Livermore Falls 6-0 in a WMC softball matchup on Tuesday.

Danielle Rich contributed for the Bulldogs (11-4) with two hits and two runs scored.

Danielle Gray held the mound for the Andies (6-8), holding Madison to a 1-0 margin until the fourth inning.

Rangeley 29, Windham-Christian 1

RANGELEY – Amber Frost belted a two-run home run in the first inning to ignite a blaze of Rangeley scoring as the Lakers rolled over Windham-Christian 29-1 in rain-dodging softball action on Tuesday.

Kate Jamison threw a no-hitter for the Lakers (9-2) to notch the shutout.

Mary Trefethen scored the lone run for Windham-Christian (0-10), while Sally Howard suffered the loss.

Mountain Valley 15, Winthrop 11

RUMFORD — Mallory Thurston hit an inside the park grand slam to lift Mountain Valley past Winthrop 15-11 in a MVC softball game on Tuesday.

Kristen Arsenault earned the win on the mound for the Falcons (4-8) after coming in to relieve Abby Mills.

Stephanie Gallant tripled and Kalie Bernard knocked two singles in the game to help spark the Mountain Valley’s offense.

Nicole Emery went 3-for-4 to lead the Ramblers (1-11).
