I read Dr. Steve Bien’s guest column of May 22. The only thing he said that made moral sense was the last paragraph: “Rather than a punishing approach, our goal should be to render the care that is needed in as safe and supportive a way as possible. As a society our goal should be clear and simple: For every woman, each pregnancy is an invited guest into her body and a welcome addition to her family.'”

No matter what excuse or explanation is offered, it is my opinion that any abortion is still murder in the first degree. We are killing 1.5 million babies a year. That is a lot of excuses. I’ll bet the best excuse has large dollar signs in front of it, which spells greed.

The parents of John Wesley, Beethoven, Ethel Waters and even Jesus all had a different excuse they might have used to terminate the pregnancies, but didn’t. More than 40 million lives have been destroyed to date. How many presidents, senators, doctors, athletes, teachers and loving fathers and mothers have been lost?

The prophecies in the Bible have never been proven wrong. They are as true as the billion stars that are shining. We are destroying our culture with the abortions, same-sex marriage, demonized music, corrupted television shows and greed. We cannot change our country. All we can do is change ourselves through prayer.
