LEWISTON – Sisters of Charity Health System volunteers were recently honored at a recognition dinner with 165 of the organization’s 208 volunteers in attendance.

Many of the honorees came “dressed to the nines” for the themed “Roaring Twenties and All That Jazz” event. The Carriage House Plus Banquet Hall was decorated to fit the era with black and white linens, red rose centerpieces, dance floor complete with mirrored ball overhead, and jazz music playing in the background.

Rounding out the festivities were door prizes donated by community businesses and participation of several students of Diane Williams, local dance instructor, who demonstrated the fox trot and the swing.

Joining the volunteers were a number of senior leadership team staff members from Sisters of Charity as well as Vice President of Human Resources Kevin Healey, who addressed the honorees, commenting on the outstanding qualities demonstrated by volunteers and the positive impact they make in the organization and all it serves.

Joyce Paradis, director of volunteers services, praised the volunteers for 32,000 hours of dedication and service in 2004, and highlighted several new volunteer-driven services leading to overall program growth. Volunteer recognition gifts were distributed.
