FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Jessie “Peggy” Patterson Hosman, 84, of Portland, passed away on Thursday, July 7.

She was born in Eastport, on May 23, 1921.

Peggy was a graduate of Portland High School, Class of 1939. She received her B.A. and M.A. from George Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn. She taught for many years at Webster School and Auburn Middle School in Lewiston.

After retirement from teaching, she became a real estate agent for Landmark-Century 21 in Portland.

Recently, she had relocated to Tennessee to be near her daughter and family.

She is survived by a daughter Linda (Mike) Carpenter of Franklin, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her father, Horace Patterson; her mother, Estelle Downing Patterson; and her sister, Geraldine Patterson.
