MAGALLOWAY PLANTATION – A 74-year-old Massachusetts man escaped serious injury Monday afternoon when the motorcycle he was driving drifted into the ditch and flipped over.

Oxford County Deputy Justin Brown said Adrian Dufresne of Falmouth, Mass., was traveling north on his 1988 Honda Gold Wing along Route 16 at 3:45 p.m. when it drifted onto the shoulder of the road, causing Dufresne to lose control.

He was taken by an Errol, N.H., ambulance to a hospital in Colebrook, N.H., where he was treated for neck and shoulder pain and cuts to the head, then released, Brown said.

Local residents drove the motorcycle off the road. Brown said about $500 damage was sustained to the motorcycle.
