BUCKFIELD – The Buckfield Adult Education theme for the fall session is “Revitalize You.” It is offering several classes this fall.

Basic computer skills will start Tuesday, Sept. 13. Students will learn terminology as well as procedures for turning on and proper shutdown. On Oct 11 an Internet class willl begin. Students will learn the basics, including Web site and search engine use as well a safety techniques.

Participants can learn re-upholstery techniques with Alan Osborn, professional upholsterer. beginning Wednesday, Oct. 5.

The “Herbal Medicine Chest” will be presented by Brenda Lynn Gould, herbalist and owner of the Bear and Bumblebee in West Paris. Learn about seven medicinal plants in an introduction to the art and science of herbal medicine. The class will be Wednesday, Sept. 7, followed by a class on medicinal fungi in November.

A new academic offering, “Biology with Lab,” will begin in September. An entrepreneur workshop for adults from the Small Business Association and a “Building an Entrepreneur – Making a Job” class will be held for 10 weeks for students from grade seven to 12 (parents are welcome to attend).

Quilting will be be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sept. 1 to Nov. 3 in the home ec room. Those interested should call the Adult Education office at 336-2151, ext. 107, and leave a message.

Basket weaving, driver education, yoga, hunter safety, CPR, chocolate factory and stress management will return this fall. New classes in crafts will include a candle centerpiece, German stars and a fabric wreath for the holidays.

Preregistration is required. The public may sign up at the table at the Community Day festivities on Labor Day, Sept. 5, at the football field or attend sign-up night from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Buckfield High School.
