DIXFIELD – Ron and Deb Hodge of Farmington will headline the first Countryfolk Gospel Homecoming Saturday, Aug. 20, as part of a weekend celebration at the Countryfolk Music Theatre. Also performing will be former Rumford resident Terry Moore and his gospel group Rocking Chair Ramblers; singer/songwriter Lucinda Gail; and the local gospel quartet Fishers of Men. Joining them will be 30-plus gospel singers from across Maine.

The homecoming event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Featured will be traditional and Southern gospel music as well as spiritual and patriotic songs. Countryfolk events are free and open to the public.

Today, there will be a jam sesson from 6 to 8 p.m. and a dance from 8 to 10 p.m. with award-winning vocalist Shawna Edwards of Auburn and former Livermore Falls resident Corey Bonnevie and friends. Sunday will also bring a jam session from noon to 6 p.m. FMI: call 645-4875.
