LOUDON, N.H. – A steady rain washed out qualifying Thursday for the NASCAR Busch North Series at New Hampshire International Speedway.

The starting lineup for today’s Sylvania 125 Presented by Lowe’s was determined by the rulebook based on current owner points and date of entry blank.

Local favorite Tracy Gordon of Strong paced Thursday’s practice session with a fast lap of 30.371 seconds around the 1.058 mile oval. Scarborough’s Ryan Moore was second fastest with a lap of 30.531 seconds. Mike Stefanik, winner of the New England 125 here in July was third-quickest, while 2001 series champion Mike Olsen and Vermont’s Brian Hoar were fourth and fifth-fastest respectively.

Current Busch North Series points leader and three-time champion Andy Santerre of Cherryfield was ninth-quickest of 37 cars to practice. Santerre is a scant 28 markers ahead of teammate Stefanik as he goes for his fourth straight title.

Kelly Moore, the 1995 champion, was eleventh fastest in the NAPA Auto Parts of Maine/Bill Dodge Auto Group Chevrolet.

Today’s race will be televised live on HDNet and re-aired Friday, Oct. 7, at 1:00 p.m. on the Speed Channel. New Hampshire International Speedway has hosted 42 Busch North Series races since 1990, far more than any other track on the schedule.
