LEWISTON – A Brooks & Dunn tractor-trailer rig was stopped on Main Street Monday morning, but no one seemed to know why.

The country music stars were headed to Columbus, Ohio, for their next gig. They performed Sunday night in Boston.

Camy Swafford, who manages Brooks & Dunn, said she didn’t know why one of the band’s trucks made its way to Lewiston, far from the usual route between Boston and Columbus.

“Maybe the driver has family there,” she suggested.

Leon Eric “Kix” Brooks III does have loose ties to Maine. He worked the club circuit in Maine – as well as in Alaska – before moving to Nashville in 1979.
