MONMOUTH – A plaque honoring a former choral quartet was presented at the Oct. 9 service at the United Church in Monmouth Center.

The plaque said: “The United Church of Monmouth: A celebration and tribute to the Choral Quartet who for many year served the Church through their music ministry: Jean Walker, Cecil Sawtelle, Carl Prescott, Robert Walker.”

The following quotation from the hymn “Amazing Grace” was included on the plaque: “When we’ve been there 10,000 years, Bright shining as the sun, We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we’d first begun.”

One member of the quartet is deceased and the other three are incapacitated.
