BOSTON (AP) – Goaltender Ben Bishop stopped 30 shots to lead fifth-ranked Maine to a 2-1 victory over Boston College Friday night, spoiling the Eagles’ home opener.

After a scoreless first period, senior Chris Collins gave eighth-ranked BC a 1-0 lead at 1:59.

At 7:57, forward Derek Damon evened the score, and with just 27 seconds remaining in the period, Billy Ryan gave Maine (6-1-0, 1-0-0 Hockey East) the win.

The loss drops Boston College’s record to 1-2-1 on the season, 0-1-1 in Hockey East.
