NEW YORK (AP) – A former teacher at Bronxville High School has been convicted of trying to set up a sexual encounter with a 15-year-old girl on the Internet, Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro said.

Earth science teacher Paul Wicht faces up to four years in prison on three counts of trying to disseminate indecent material to a minor, The New York Times reported in Tuesday editions.

Wicht, who was convicted Monday, was arrested last year when he arrived for the alleged rendezvous with his former student.

The girl reported his overtures to her parents, and investigators in the prosecutor’s office then posed as the girl for several explicit online conversations, Pirro said.
