CAPE ELIZABETH – The wedding of Amy Jean Bergeron and John Howard McDonough IV was held at 2:30 p.m. on July 9 at St. Bartholomew Church in Cape Elizabeth. Msgr. Michael J. Henchel and the Rev. Gary Daly officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. McDonough is the daughter of Terry and Pamela Bergeron of Jay. Mr. McDonough is the son of John and Donna McDonough of Milton, Mass.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Rebecca Bergeron was maid of honor for her sister, and bridesmaids were friends of the bride, Allison Langlais, Meghan Hamilton, Jenna Greenleaf, Erin McDonald, Elizabeth Sena and Heather Gaquinto, and Keri Starratt, sister of the bridegroom.

Matthew McDonough, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and ushers were friends of the bridegroom, Michael Bianculli, Brett Pearlstein, Bob MacCurtain, Joseph Pothier, Michael Fitzgerald, William Cole, Tim Lucey, Francis Curran and Jeff Starratt.

A reception followed at Eastland Park Hotel in Portland, after which the couple traveled to Aruba. They are residing in Braintree, Mass.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Jay High School and a 2002 graduate of Springfield College with a bachelor’s degree in health services administration. She is employed at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Braintree, Mass.

The bridegroom is a 1994 graduate of Milton High School and a 1998 graduate of St. Anselm College with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He is employed at Dentsply North America.
