LEWISTON – Joanne G. Gagne, 61, of York, Pa., went to be with her Lord, Jan. 3, at the home of her brother, Ronald Ouellette, of the Ouellette’s Adult Foster Home, 121 Rosedale St., Lewiston, due to complications from Lewy-Bodies dementia.

She was born in Lewiston on April 11, 1944, the daughter of Armand Sr. and Lucielle Fortine Ouellette. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Lewiston High Schools. She married Paul Gagne on Dec. 26, 1964. Shortly after, they moved to York, Pa., where they raised their five children.

She was a homemaker until her children were grown. She then went to work as a CNA at Manor Care South for 10 years until her retirement due to illness.

Her joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She also loved her summer family reunions in Maine with her brothers and sister. She also loved music, beano and Sunday dinners with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years; three daughters, Lisa Young and her husband, Randy, Tina Young and her husband, Jack, Sally Klock and her husband, Brad; two sons, David, Mark and wife, Jennifer; 11 grandchildren, all of York, Pa.; her brother, Ronald Ouellette, of Lewiston; a sister, Margie Ouellette, of Lewiston; a half-sister, Geraldine Isabelle, of Birmingham, Ala.; an aunt, Blanche Bolduc of Lewiston; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Mom, Grammy, Sis, please guide and watch over us until we meet again, Love You all. Rest peacefully in your pj’s.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Armand Jr.; a half-sister, Marie Armstrong; and a very special aunt, Yvette Bechard.
