Petty Officer First Class Laurice H. Strother II, U. S. Navy, was commissioned to the rank of ensign under the Navy’s Limited Duty Officer Program on Jan. 1. He is the son of Sandra L. Tyrell of Poland and brother of Amy Chaplin of Harrison, Molly Polland of Sebago and Rebecca VanDeParre of Webster, N.H. Strother has served in the Navy since January 1995 and is stationed in Maryland.
