SOUTH PORTLAND – Faye Luppi of Poland Spring, project director of the Violence Intervention Partnership for Cumberland County, recently received the top award of the Maine State Bar Association Women’s Law Section.
The Caroline Glassman Award was presented at the annual meeting here of the 3,100-member MSBA, a voluntary professional organization.
Named for retired Maine Supreme Court Justice Caroline Glassman, the award recognizes service by women lawyers that educates and inspires young women entering the legal profession.
Luppi, a prosecutor for several years after graduating from the University of Maine School of Law in 1985, has headed the Violence Intervention Partnership since 1999.
She also has taught juvenile law as an adjunct professor at the University of Maine School of Law since 1993 while directing the Breast Cancer Project of the MSBA Women’s Law Section. She also serves on the Maine Bar Foundation’s board of directors as well as several community and nonprofit service organizations.
