AUBURN – The Thomas E. Lahey Foundation has announced its scholarship recipients for 2005-2006. This year’s recipients are:

Matthew Nadeau, a graduate of Edward Little High School, is attending Norwich University. He is the son of Jeff Nadeau and Linda Nadeau of Auburn.

Kristi Gordon, a graduate of Edward Little High School, is attending Maine Maritime Academy and is the daughter of Larry and Dawn Gordon of Auburn.

Michelle Bernier, a graduate of Edward Little High School, is attending the University of Maine at Farmington and is the daughter of Daniel and Doris Bernier of Auburn.

Jason Dube, a graduate of Lewiston High School, is attending the University of Maine at Farmington and is the son of Daniel and Debra Dube of Lewiston.

Samantha Leeman, a graduate of Lewiston High School, is attending the University of Maine at Farmington and is the daughter of Richard and Debra Leeman of Lewiston.

Danielle Moreau, a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, is attending the University of New England and is the daughter of Aldo and Diane Moreau of Lewiston.

Joseph Turmel, a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, is attending Central Maine Community College and is the son of Thomas and Sherry Turmel of Lewiston.

The Thomas E. Lahey Foundation was established to honor Tom Lahey, an outstanding Lewiston athlete and successful businessman who died Oct. 3, 1987, at the age of 43.

The purpose of the foundation is to assess local youth in the pursuit of excellence in academic, athletic and cultural activities.

Since its inception the foundation has raised more than $250,000 and awarded nearly $110,000 in scholarships.

Fund-raisers schedule for 2006 include a bowling tournament that was held on Jan. 28 and a golf tournament scheduled for July 14 at Springbrook Golf Course.
