On Thurs, Feb. 2, Holy Cross School was celebrating their fourth day of Catholic Schools Week. That particular day was named Mis-Match Day, because of the ridiculous outfits that the students are allowed to wear on that day. Most kids these days base their outfits on the fashion that is big at the time, or at least try to match what they’re wearing. But Miss-Match Day is when all Holy Cross students lose that sense of fashion! They go out of the norm and into that crazy maniac state of mind. “Nothing can match on me today!” said Lydia Martin. Her statements applied to every child who went to school that day.

As if it wasn’t crazy enough, it was also teacher appreciation day, the day when kids find ways to show their teachers that they care despite the fact that they talk out in class or otherwise. The teachers leave their rooms around lunch time to have a teacher get-together and have a good lunch. While in the meantime student parents come in to watch the classes. Many of the classes prepare a surprise for their teacher when she or he returns. Some make cards, while others give them candy; it all doesn’t matter, because it’s the thought that counts. So as the kids walked around in their crazy clothes, and the teachers had a nice lunch together, we all can say that day was a great day.
