LEWISTON – Laurie A. Scribner, 35, died March 14, at the d’Youville Pavilion with her loving family and friends by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Portland on April 24, 1970, the daughter of Sandra Osier-McPhail. She was raised and educated in Scarborough. She received her diploma from Biddeford High School Adult Education in 1994.

She loved spending time with her son, Shawn, her immediate family, her extended family and many close friends.

She will be remembered for her courage, compassion and willingness to help others. She had a big and loving heart.

Her dedicated work ethic earned her an award from Southern Maine Paper Carriers.

She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Lewiston where she became close friends with the Rev. Jane Holmes.

She is survived by her son, Shawn Scribner of Lewiston; her mother and stepfather, Sandy and Jimmy McPhail of Portland; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Billy White; nephews, Robert, Wesley, and Billy; nieces, Monica and Marissa, all of Auburn; grandmother, Arlene Osier of Standish; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was predeceased by her great-grandmother, Tina Osier; grandfather, Roland Osier; and cousin, Michael LaFlamme.

The family would like to thank the awesome hospice workers and the incredible staff at d’Youville Pavilion for their compassion and loving care of Laurie. Special thanks to Lois and Pastor Jane for staying all night in Laurie’s last hours.

Laurie, you will be loved and missed by all of us.
