Lewiston – Mable G. Russell, 83, of Lisbon Falls died Wednesday, March 15, at Central Maine Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Smyrna Mills, April 19, 1922, the daughter of Andrew and Maude Shaw Scott. She was educated in Smyrna Mills schools and worked for many years at the Worumbo Mill in Lisbon Falls. On Feb. 27, 1937, she married Linwood “Gus” Russell. He died Dec. 14, 1987.

She was a member of the Lisbon Falls Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rebekahs, and the Cackel Club of Bowdoin. Among her interests were embroidery. She was known for her embroidered pillowcases which she always made for family and friends. She also loved the Boston Red Sox. She never missed a game and could give you all the stats on any game or individual player.

Her greatest love and pleasure in life, however, was the time she spent with her family. She will be sadly missed, but always remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.

She is survived by two daughters, Starr Hardy of Lisbon Falls, Sheila and her husband, Stephen Bichrest, of South Carolina; one son, Jake Russell and his wife, Gerry, of Florida; 13 grandchildren, Judy Hardy Goddard, Linda Hardy Fowler, Jamie Hardy, Vicki Bichrest Janosco, William Bichrest, Linwood Bichrest, Stephanie Bichrest Pesce, Richard Russell, Debbie Nadeau Lambert, Karen Bichrest Libby, Traci Russell Beaulieu, Michael Hardy and Donna Nadeau Currie; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sal Beck of Connecticut.; and one special nephew, Lendall Scott of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by one great-granddaughter, Kerri McNamara in 2000; two daughters, Earlene Nadeau in 1999; Ethel Russell in 1942; two sons, Scott Russell in 2005 and Andrew Russell in 1952.
