LISBON – A water main that burst beneath the street at Route 196 and River Road Friday night tore up part of the road and left a handful of people without water pressure.

Water Department crews were expected to be out at least until late Friday night repairing the busted main after it was reported gushing water shortly before 8 p.m.

Lisbon police were controlling traffic around the area and could not speculate on when the problem might be fixed.
