Members of the Poland Regional High School humanities class were in Augusta on April 11 to observe the Legislature as they study the government standards for the Maine Learning Results. The visit will also benefit the students in conjunction with government and economic studies required in their senior year, said instructor Steve Swick, who accompanied the class. The students were recognized by the State Senate as guests of Sen. Lois Snowe-Mello, R-Poland, third from right in front row. Class members attending included Corey Edwards, Tory Hutchinson, Nate May, Karissa Robinson, Cory Parent, Kyle Davis, Nate Cavers, Dan Bickford, Derek Hersey, Tristan Johnson, Lucas Mcnally, Mike Leavitt, Ryan Carter and staff members Swick, Brenda Breton and Jill Olson-Mills.
