FARMINGTON – In a short Tuesday night meeting, selectmen approved all requests and awarded bids for a plow truck, a truck body and equipment, street striping, and repairs to the community center, said Town Manager Richard Davis.

Low bidder CB Kenworth Co. of Portland won the bid for an International plow truck for $50,134.78, Davis said. HP Fairfield Co. of Skowhegan won the bid for the truck body and equipment. Its $22,961 was not the lowest bid, but “our mechanic recommended going with the brand (Everest) because it better meets the needs” of the town.

Of the three proposals the town received for street striping, Davis said, the bid was awarded to the lowest bidder, Pine Street Safety Lines, Inc. of Topsham. The bid was $8,236.

The final bids were all awarded to Wilton mason Kenneth Upton, who said he would “do the repair work under the (Community Center) windows” for $3,000 and repair the front section of the wall for $500.
